The Yellow fronted woodpecker (Melanerpes flavifrons) is a species of bird in the family Picidae. It is found in Brasil, Paraguay and far northeastern Argentina. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forests It is a fairly common bird with a wide range and the International Union for Conservation of Nature has classified its conservation status as “least concern”.
